Independent Living Services (ILS)
ILS is a service offered for adult consumers for the purpose of training the consumer, on a time limited basis, to safely and successfully master the skills to live in his/her own meaningful independent living setting.
Criteria to receive this service:
- ILS can be purchased for consumers who are living in their own house or apartment and in need of functional skills training in order to maintain a self-sustaining, independent living situation.
- ILS can be purchased if the consumer so chooses depending upon his/her commitment, motivation to live independently, and assessment of needs.
- Due to the time limited nature of ILS, if the consumer is living in the parental/family home at the time of the request for ILS, there must be a plan of action with mutually agreed upon deadlines set for a move out date

Supported Living Services (SLS)
SLS is defined as those services and supports provided as often as needed, to consumers, regardless of disability, which would enable them to reside in homes (or departments) that they own, rent or lease when supported living is the prepared objective in the individual program plan.
Criteria to receive this service:
- 18 years or older and eligible for regional center services.
- Preferred living arrangement of consumer
- Choice has been indentified through the IPP process
- Risks of endangerment to health, safety and well being are minimized
