Esperanza Services provides assistance and training to clients in establishing an independent and safe home environment.
We assist clients in selecting and moving into a home within their budget. Often times, clients may request to share a home with roommates to ease the costly burden of rent. We provide trainings apartment searching, home furnishing needs and offer match ups when choosing roommates. We also offer advocacy with settling disputes with landlords and in Section 8 appointments.
Most of the time, clients enter the program with knowledge on basic housekeeping skills. Esperanza Services offers support and guidance in housekeeping and the importance and consequences of keeping a properly maintained residence.
Clients will be instructed on the use of housekeeping equipment and the proper disposal of garbage. Proper cleaning methods are also taught such as the best cleaning methods for glass, wood, walls, mirrors, tiles and carpets.
Prevention of pest habitation is also introduced to the client. If the residence is already experiencing a pest problem, our counselors will assist and instruct the client on how to handle pest control substances and equipment safely and effectively as well as the proper storage of such substances.
